Independent Living for Seniors (ILS) is an affiliate of Rochester General Hospital. ILS utilizes Rochester General Hospital and specialists affiliated with the Rochester General Hospital provider network.

Recreation

The Recreation Department focuses on maintaining the individual participant's personal recreational goals and interests.

The Hudson Day center is a vibrant and active center focusing on individual projects and very active small and large group programs as well.

The Recreation Department focuses on maintaining the individual participant's personal recreational goals and interests.

Recreation is also offered at two of our alternate care settings (ACS), River Street and North Park housing.

The following are examples of some of the activities taking place; worship, musical entertainment, holiday celebrations, women and men's socials clubs; It's Never Too Late (computer classes especially designed with the elderly in mind), arts and crafts, art lessons and outings.

The center has two full time recreational therapist coordinating activities. A recreational therapist is also located at the ACS's. The center has a very active participant council which is involved in making suggestions to activities offered.

The center looks forward to intergenerational programs provided by area schools. At the center you will find programs that are culturally diverse, that offer and promote the chance and the opportunity for each participant to pursue their individual interests, as well as become a part of the ILS community.
